A good link for anyone who doesn’t fully understand trans* stuff. Quite effective. Wish we could just give this link when faced with being asked or confronted.
note: I know that this only says “gay pride”. Though lots of trans* individuals are straight, I’d rather this be viewed as in defense of LGBT pride.

Images like this hurt.
People who aren’t involved in the queer community may not know much about transgender issues and respect, and that’s okay. But things like the above are just ignorant.
People don’t have to be cis to be beautiful. She’s beautiful. She’s a transgirl. This image just basically says, “Think she’s cute? Joke’s on you, she’s not biologically female so you should question your sexuality.”
Transwomen are real women.
It’s okay for boys to be feminine, and still identify as boys.
It’s okay for girls to be masculine, and still identify as girls.
I was raised in a way that taught me that giving yourself a label is a negative thing. I was taught that you should “just be who you are”, and that any label you may give yourself is an act of obnoxious flaunting.
However, become older now, I completely disagree with that. My mom always told me not to go by any label, that it was obnoxious. That’s why I hold back with my gender and sexuality labels; because I was raised like that.
I think it’s okay to label yourself. What if labeling yourself is part of being who you are? It’s okay to label yourself. It’s okay to not label yourself.
It’s okay to do what you want to do to become who you are.
