Anonymous asked: Is it bad to come out as trans*, then recant because you've realized that's not who you are? I'm terrified everyone will think I'm a poser, but I sincerely thought I was, and now I've realized I am not. What do you think?

What's In a Name?
People sometimes say “I don’t care- you will always be -birthname- to me.” to trans* people. And then they smile a friendly smile, like it’s a compliment. Like what they’re saying is your birth name defines who you are, that your character is in that name. It’s sad hearing that. Your birth name is often decided upon your sex- what if it doesn’t...

Anonymous asked: This will sound horrible, but I feel bad for considering myself trans*. Deep down I'm overjoyed when my friends call me "he", and would love to present as male when I go out places. But when I'm home, around my parents, my family, is when I feel bad. I know if I ever told them, they would just think I'm attention seeking, or being rebellious. And if I wasn't that, I...

Lots Of People Don't Understand
dys-pho-ri-a [dis-fawr-ee-uh, -fohr-] noun Pathology a state of dissatisfaction, anxiety, restlessness, or fidgeting. Above is dictionary.com’s definition of dysphoria. If you add the word “body” or “gender” to that definition, it becomes “body dysphoria” or “gender dysphoria”. That then turns the definition into: a state of...

Homemade Packer Idea
Get a handkerchief and two safety pins. Also get a pair of leggings or pantyhose and cut the legs off(note: Put what’s left on under a binder-it can help.) I recommend the nude shade pantyhose that are sort of translucent as it’s a thin material. Fold the handkerchief in half, and in half again. Then, fold it in half length-wise, and kind of roll it to be as thin as you like. ...

Trans* is a crime in Canada
Under Sec 5.2(1)(c) of the ID screening regs of Aeronautics Act:  “An air carrier shall not transport a passenger if the passenger does not appear to be of the gender indicated on the identification he or she presents.” This means that anyone who is a post-op or non-op trans* person can be turned away from getting on flights in Canada. This is blatant discrimination towards the trans*community....

Don't Use The Terms If You're Not Sure of Them
I’ve come across people using derogatory terms, not to be hurtful, just because of being uneducated. For instance, one of my friends used the term “shemale” around me to describe a trans woman sitting across from us on the bus(I’m not out to him, but he knows my views on transgender issues.) and I kind of freaked out a little bit. After my slight freakout, he said he only...
